Hey Kindred Spirits, how's it going out there?
Dan here with a quick monthly update, it's been quite the year as the title of this blog suggests and these past few weeks have been exceptional as well.
Dave and I kicked it off with a very fun acoustic gig at the Ship and Castle back on the 8th, much singing along and dancing occurred as well as the odd ale and whiskey!
We've also played a couple of full band pub gigs too, firstly at FuBar and then the following night at Caulkheads in Sandown, both were really enjoyable, trying out a couple of our favourite cover songs as well as the majority of our own work. Thank you to anyone who attended them!
Last weekend also saw us hold our yearly charity event at FuBar, this year in aid of Men Only IOW and it blew us away just how well supported it was. We want to give a massive thanks to all the artists who gave up their time and to the bar staff of FuBar and also Richard Taylor who provided sound all weekend, to help support and raise money and awareness for this very important cause. We raised about £400 over the course of the two day event and we've attached a QR code to this blog for any further donations. We're looking into doing something very similar again next year.
Looking ahead, we have Drowning now mixed and ready to be mastered, that'll be sent off ready to be released as soon as we get back a secret surprise to go with it. So keep your eyes peeled on all those streaming sites for our latest release!
We hope to see you around a few times this coming month. Dave, myself, Corrine and Mark will be at Triple A Records next Saturday for a little acoustic set which we're really looking forward to. A chance to air a couple of new songs as well. Then we'll be heading to the Quay Arts to take part in their Christmas song competition again. Rounding off the year in style, we'll also be taking part in Coburgs' Rock for Good event on the last Sunday of the year!
Hope to see you all soon, take it easy.
Dan.
